摘要
Androgens arc known to have a role in the body fat, muscle size, muscle performance and physical function differences seen between hypogonadal and eugonadal men. The results of investigations into effects of testosterone on body composition, fat metabolism and muscle anabolism are reviewed here. Testosterone dose-response relationships are presented in studies of the effects of physiologic and supraphysiologic doses with and without exercise in young hypogonadal men, older men with low testosterone levels and in chronic illness states.
