A spectroscopic study of the pH sensor response of fluorescein doped silica and aluminosilica sol-gel glasses

摘要
The pH dependent absorption spectrum of fluorescein doped silica and aluminosilica sol-gel glasses is used to demonstrate that the xerogel matrices alter the stability of certain fluorescein structures. In addition, time-resolved spectral changes demonstrate that ionic diffusion plays a significant role in the observed kinetics.
