摘要
A class of molecules known as metallacrowns is the main focus in this review. Metallacrowns, named on the basis of the ring size and the number of donating oxygen atoms, have been used or an assortment of functions such as antibacterial compounds, building two- and three-dimensional solids, stabilization of unstable molecules, single-molecule magnets as well as molecular, cation and anion recognition agents. The two aspects of metallacrown chemistry: the expanse of metallacrown structures and the numerous functions of metallacrowns, are also included in this review.
