摘要
Cloning of the Huntington's disease gene uncovered huntingtin, which is remarkable for its lack of similarity with known proteins despite its large size, similar to 350 kDa. Subsequent experiments established that huntingtin has an as yet unknown function, crucial for embryonic development and neurogenesis. Recent protein trapping to identify huntingtin interactors now reveals that many different prey fall victim to huntingtin bait.
