Splat: A nonequilibrium morphology on the way to a microemulsion

摘要
A nonequilibrium morphology of a thermoplastic-thermoset blend was studied. Poly(phenylene ether) (PPE) was selected as the thermoplastic phase and an amine cured polyepoxide as the thermoset phase. The results showed that the final morphology in the resulting thermoplastic/thermoset blend is strongly dependent on the complex competition between phase separation rates and polymerization rates.
