摘要
Supramolecular metal cylinders not only bind noncovalently to DNA inducing substantial coiling but are able to recognize specific DNA structures involved in biological processes as DNA replication. It is demonstrated that these molecules can inhibit the amplification of the DNA mediated by a Taq DNA polymerase and are even able to displace the enzyme from a double strand DNA (see scheme). © 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
