(Figure Presented) Metal bearing nucleobase: A model DNA polymerase and N7-metalated purine triphosphate nucleotide are used to show that metalated purines can be inserted into DNA during an enzymatic in vitro synthetic process (see scheme; dNTP = deoxynucleotide triphosphate). The possibility of site-specific metalation of DNA mediated by DNA polymerase is demonstrated. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
