Preparation and characterization of spherical TiO2-SiO2 particles

摘要
Spherical titania/silica particles of 30-60 mum average diameter, a surface area in the range 400-700 m(2)/g and a pore volume of 0.9-1.4 cm(3)/g have been prepared via emulsion/gelation of mixed sols. The TiO2 content is up to 11% by weight. Several preparation procedures of sols have been experimented, selecting that able to give a transparent and rigid gel in a reasonable time. Surface analysis suggests a substantial homogeneity of the samples and a preferential location of Ti atoms on tetrahedral sites. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
