摘要：

Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to monitor the release of the pyrene derivative from the gold cluster surface upon exchange with decanethiol. Results were found to be consistent with an associative exchange path but indicate also that the insertion of the incoming thiol in the preformed lattice weakens the interaction of several adsorbed molecules, which then results in the rearrangement of more than a single unit in the reaction rate-determining step.
