The composition of the bath was 4.8 g/dm(3) of NiCl2.H2O, 2.0 g/dm(3) of dimethylamine-borane, 4.4 g/dm(3) of sodium acetate and 0.01 g/dm(3) of sodium lauryl sulfate (pH 4). The temperature was 341 K. The deposition rate was fast, in the order of sonication (45 kHz) > mechanical agitation (250 rpm) > vibration (500 Hz) > vibration (1.6 MHz) > stationary state. The deposited film that was formed by sonication reduced corrosion resistance in a 3% NaCl solution. It was estimated that cracks increased on surface with sonication. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V.
