The gas-sensing of SmCoOx/MOx (M = Fe, Zn, In, Sn) having a heterojunction

摘要
Heterocontacts between p-type SmCoO3 and n-type MOx (M = Fe, Zn, In, Sn) were prepared by mechanically contacting two sintered pellets. The sensitivity of SmCoO3/MOx for C2H5OH gases depends on the kind of MOx and measuring temperature. When the response activity was compared in terms of the peak temperature of a sensitivity-temperature curve, the order in activity was Fe2O3 >In(2)O(3)greater than or equal to SnO2>ZnO. The activity of these elements was correlated with the activation energy (Delta E-d) of the conductivity of MOx. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
