摘要：

The hydrothermal transformation of alpha-FeOOH into alpha-Fe2O3 in the presence of silicon dioxide is reported. The properties of the obtained iron oxide together with the reactivity in the solid phase synthesis of barium hexaferrite are presented and discussed.
