摘要
The United States National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) is operated by the University of Florida, Florida State University and the Los Alamos National Laboratory and has been charged to develop and maintain advanced magnet systems in response to the research needs of a diverse user community, to advance the development of magnet and magnet materials technology and to promote science with the goal to use and enhance the use of these facilities. The NHMFL's main facilities are located in Tallahassee with additional facilities at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the University of Florida. Superconducting, resistive, hybrid and pulsed magnets are available or under development along with a wide range of specialized systems and instrumentation packages, These facilities are open to qualified researchers through a proposal submission process. An overview of the magnet and research facilities currently available or planned are presented along with a discussion of magnet technology and some of the science areas being pursued within the laboratory.
