A simple technique for direct transformation and regeneration of the diploid legume species Lotus japonicus

摘要
The diploid legume species Lotus japonicus was transformed using a disarmed Agrobacterium strain. By inoculating the cotyledon attachment site, we took advantage of the regenerative capability of the plant which spontaneously regenerated transformed shoots. Some of these shoots were propagated as transgenic plants and later transferred to the glasshouse to produce seeds. Seeds were germinated and yielded non-chimeric, transgenic stably modified Lotus plants.
