摘要
Normal anorectal function is vital for any social creature, including humans. Problems in the seeming short last segment of the gastrointestinal tract put tremendous stress on individuals and impair the quality of life. Many anorectal dysfunctions can be detected by functional assessment of the anorectum, particularly anorectal manometry, hence guide clinical management. This article reviews techniques commonly used in routine clinical settings and clinical research centers.
