Design and fabrication of GMR multilayers with enhanced thermal stability

摘要
Enhanced thermal stability of NiFeCo/Cu multilayers has been observed for multilayer stacks prepared with 'overdesigned' magnetic layers. Multilayers such as these show almost no giant magnetoresistance (GMR) in the as-deposited state, but exhibit huge improvements upon annealing. This methodology represents a considerable improvement over conventional methods.
