Picking up the gauntlet: The challenge of developing highly effective catalyst systems for the enantioselective Strecker reaction to convert ketimine substrates (see scheme, red; A denotes protecting group) into a-amino nitriles (blue) and ultimately a-amino acids has been met by several recent developments.
