摘要
The regulation of energy balance occurs in the hypothalamus. There, afferent hormonal and neural signals are integrated to influence the efferents signal of caloric intake and energy expenditure. Defects in this complex neuroendocrine negative feedback loop give rise to various known hormonal and genetic obesity syndromes, and provide insight into therapeutic strategies for obesity management.
