Thallium(I) supramolecular polymer with Tl•••π secondary interactions; preparation of nano-structures by sonochemical method as a new precursor for preparation of Tl2O3 with nano-structural surface

摘要
Micro and nano-structures of a new thallium(I) supramolecular polymer, [Tl-2(mu(3)-TPOAc)(mu(4)-TPOAc)](n) (1) [HTPOAc = triphenylacetic acid], were synthesized by sonochemical methods. These new micro and nano-structures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. Compound 1 was structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and consists of primary dimmeric unit of. Self assembly between the dimmeric units of [Tl-2(mu(3)-TPOAc)(mu(4)-TPOAc)] from Tl center dot center dot center dot C short contacts result in formation of a new two-dimensional thallium(I) supramolecular polymer. Two TII-ions in compound 1 have O5TI(1)center dot center dot center dot C-3 and O2TI(1A)center dot center dot center dot C-2 coordination spheres with a stereo-chemically 'active' electron lone pair on the metals. Thermal stability of compound 1 was studied by thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analyses. In addition thallium( III) oxide with nano-structural surface was prepared from calcination process of compound 1 at 873 K. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
