Investigation of the carbothermal reduction of Ti2O3 in argon and nitrogen atmospheres

摘要
Carbothermal reduction of Ti2O3 was investigated in argon and nitrogen atmospheres. Results indicated that Ti3O5-carbon starting mixtures showed cubic phase directly formed from Ti3O5 when reaction occured in nitrogen atmospheres. Ti2O3 appeared as an oxide intermediate during the carbothermal reduction of titanium oxide in noble gas atmosphere.
