(Chemical Equation Presented) Green light for alkene metathesis: A strong σ-donor ligand L favors the active conformation (green in the scheme) of the carbene ligand in the ruthenium complex and thus leads to high catalytic activity of the second-generation Grubbs catalysts. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
