Optical spectroscopy of Dy3+ ions doped in KY(WO4)2 crystals

摘要
Structure and optical properties of Dy3+ doped KY(WO4)(2) single crystals have been studied. The electronic and infra-red absorption, emission and Raman spectra have been measured in the temperature region from 300 to 5 K. Intensities of the absorption transitions have been analysed by means of the Judd-Ofelt theory and radiative lifetimes of the Dy3+ excited states have been evaluated. The inhomogeneous broadening of the emission bands has been explained on the basis of the disorder distribution of the cationic sites in the scheelite structure of the crystal. The X-ray structural analysis of the crystal under investigation is reported. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
