Chemisorption and electrochemical reactions of SO2 on modified SnO2 electrodes

摘要
The SO2 chemisorption on the Sb-doped SnO2 surface in the temperature range 20-500 degrees C and the initial pressure of 30-300 Pa was studied. Several SO2 chemisotption forms characterized by different strength of their binding to the surface and effective charge were shown to exist. The experimental results were compared with those of quantum chemical simulation. Electrochemical characteristics of a SO2 sensor on the basis of sodium-conducting solid electrolyte with a Sb-doped SnO2 as working electrode were determined. (c) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
