摘要：

Measurements are presented of the nonlinear polarisation rotation of light pulses passing through a semiconductor optical amplifier. It is shown that thr induced phase differences between TM and TE modes can be substantial (similar to pi /4 radians) for modest gain modulations (similar to 4dB).
