Synthesis, properties and crystal structure of a novel organic-inorganic salt of 12-silicomolybdate, (C2H5NO2)3.5H4SiMo12O40•-8.5H2O

摘要
A novel organic-inorganic salt of 12-silicomolybdate, (C2H5NO2)(3.5)H4SiMo12O40.8.5H(2)O (I) has been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analyses, IR spectrum, electronic spectrum and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P (1) over bar with a = 17.099(3), b = 17.575(4), c = 18.928(4) Angstrom, a = 72.93(3),beta = 89.99(3), gamma = 67.15(3)degrees, V = 4969(2) Angstrom (3), Z = 4 and R1(wR2) = 0.0294 (0.0767). The crystal structure consists of [SiMo12O40](4-) units linked together with C2H5NO2 molecules through hydrogen bonding. The electrochemical properties of I showed that it has electrocatalytic activity for bromate reduction. We also found that the compound exhibited effectiveness in preventing tomato mosaic virus (TOMV). (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
