A detailed analytical model for novel hexagonal honeycomb structures which are composed of alternate layers of re-entrant and non re-entrant features is presented. It is shown that deformation from hinging, flexure and/or stretching of the cell walls can lead to zero Poisson's ratios, a property which is highly desirable in niche applications.
