Glucose oxidase bound to self-assembled monolayers of bis(4-pyridyl) disulfide at a gold electrode: Amperometric determination of glucose

摘要
Gold electrodes modified with self assembled monolayers (SAMs) of bis(4-pyridyl) disulfide show satisfactory operational stability and a suppression of Faradaic response to dioxygen, hydrogen peroxide and ascorbic acid is noticed. Immobilization of glucose oxidase, through glutaraldehyde coupling, into the SAM yielded electrodes which responded to glucose in the presence of a soluble mediator, ferrocenecarboxylic acid.
