Determination of micelle structure of octyI-β-glucoside in aqueous solution by small angle neutron scattering and geometric analysis

摘要
Small angle neutron scattering (SANS) experiments were performed to investigate the structure of micelle of n-octyl-beta -glucoside, Ellipsoidal and cylindrical models were applied to fit SANS data. It was found that the models can describe the scattering data fairly well. Aggregation number and molecular structure of n-octyl-beta -glucoside as well as SANS data were taken into account to analyse micelle structure. The hydrodynamic radius predicted by the cylindrical model was consistent with that obtained from diffusivity by other authors. This suggests that the obtained shape of micelle is reasonable.
