摘要
A review regarding the recent development of DNA biosensors and microarrays is given. Aside from the usual discussion on electrochemical transduction, this review further describes the optical and piezoelectric transduction modes. In addition, the recent evolution of DNA microarrays as well as the DNA probe immobilization and hybridization detection has been reported. Several DNA detection systems that is based on the hybridization between a DNA target and its complementary probe have been described. There are two aspects to be considered when developing such hybridization biosensors and microarrays. These are the sensitivity and the selectivity. Specific topics discussed include DNA immobilization and the nucleic acid hybridization detection.
