Strong luminescence of pure and yttria doped zirconia xerogels

摘要
The optical properties of yttria doped zirconia (ZrO2) xerogels were analyzed. The pure and yttria doped zirconia xerogel was obtained from polyzirconoxane (PZO) precursors. Luminescence and excitation spectra were measured with a 2.5 nm monochrometer slit on a fluorescence spectrometer. UV-Vis absorption spectra were determined using a U-3500 UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer. In the luminescence spectra of yttria doped zirconia xerogels, the luminescence intensity increases with the increase in yttria proportion.
