摘要
The Au(1 0 0) surface structure in contact with 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMImBF(4)) has been observed using electrochemical atomic force microscopy (EC-AFM) under an electrochemically controlled potential. The AFM images, taken in EMImBF(4) in the potential range from -0.6 to 0.2 V vs. Ag/Ag(I), shows a fourfold symmetry with the distance between protrusions of approximate to0.30-0.32 nm. This structure agrees well with the ideal surface structure of Au(1 0 0)-(1 x 1) and it is very similar to that previously obtained in a sulfuric acid aqueous solution. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
