Preparation of ZnO Nanorods in the Presence of Nano Preyssler as a Green and Eco-Friendly Polyoxometalate and its Photocatalytic Activity in the Photodegradation of Methyl Orange

摘要
A novel and simple approach is reported to fabricate ZnO nanorods in the presence of nano Preyssler polyoxometalate. The morphology and size of these nanorods were characterized using transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The performance of nano form of Preyssler was compared with bulk form. Results showed that both Preyssler and nano Preyssler produce ZnO nanorods via a solvothermal route. In a designed photo reactor, the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange as common azo dye pollutants was selected as a test reaction to estimate the catalytic activity of the synthesized ZnO nanorods and found to be excellent.
