β-peptides:: From structure to function

摘要
The techniques used for designing biomimetic polymers which showed both secondary and tertiary structures analogous to natural proteins were discussed. A series of cyclic β-peptides and mixed α- and β-peptides that self-assemble to form tubular architectures were also studied. The results revealed that the polymeric β-peptides were capable of adopting stable helical structures.
