摘要
Morphological and histological investigations of cuticle and indumentum, as well as identification of the main components of the secreted material, were carried out for Salvia blepharophylla Brandegee ex Epling. Besides nonglandular hairs, three types of glandular trichomes (peltate and capitate) are described and compared with trichomes in other species. The histological findings and chemical analysis of the essential oil and leaf surface extracts revealed a complex secretion product. GC-MS analysis of the essential oil showed that eugenol, cis-3-hexenyl benzoate, cis-jasmone, trans-nerolidol, benzyl alcohol and C-19-C-23 n-alkanes were the main identifiable components, whereas the flavonoids nuchensin and pedalitin, the neo-clerodane diterpenoid salvianduline D, and the triterpenoids ursolic acid and alpha-amyrin were isolated from the extract.
