摘要
Sodium methyl carbonate, NaCH3CO3, has been characterised by X-ray crystallography (P2(1)/c, monoclinic, Z=4, a=10.801(2), b=5.334(1), c=6.746(1) Angstrom, beta=105.343(1)degrees, V=374.80(11) Angstrom(3)). The study reveals a unique arrangement of the methyl carbonate groups in double layers, with each of the bidentate carbonate groups pointing towards the inside to incorporate the sodium ions, which are situated in a distorted trigonal prismatic environment of oxygen atoms.
