(Figure Presented) Three not of a kind: Two metal-organic nets sustained by three different molecular building blocks, triangles, squares, and tetrahedra, are prepared and characterized. The shapes (see picture red triangles, green squares, yellow tetrahedra) reveal how appropriate combinations of vertex-linked polygons or polyhedra afford novel topologies that could be prototypal of an even wider range of organic and metal-organic compounds. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
