The effects of phase and Stark shift on two-photon process

摘要
The effects of Stark shift on the probability amplitudes of N two-level atoms involved in two-photon transitions with the Nth atom undergoing phase shift, are investigated. Results show that under certain physical conditions, a photon pair can be trapped and released periodically. Due to complete energy exchange, a photon pair (after phase shift) exhibits an almost mirror image of an atom pair (before phase shift). Moreover, the population after phase shift seems to be localized by clamping the photon pair. For a larger number of atoms, the population is trapped periodically. The trapped time varies with N and the probability amplitudes with 1/N.
