摘要
The use of laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) in biological and environmental studies to cover the analysis of diverse matrices from tree rings to coral was discussed. Application of the approach in marine samples, particularly the analysis of corals and fish otoliths, constitute the greatest proportion of biological and environmental studies. Laser ablation ICP-MS in biological and environmental studies offered a rapid single or multielemental analysis direct from the solid for matrices as diverse as ice cores and otoliths. Geologists are also applying LA-ICP-MS to a wide range of geological problems and increasingly in speciation studies.
