Factors affecting the electrochemical formation of polypyrrole-nitrate colloids

摘要
Conducting-polymer colloids have been successfully prepared electrochemically whilst retaining the electrical properties of the polymer. The effect of polymerisation time, monomer concentration, polymerisation solution volume, working electrode porosity and surface area on mass of colloid produced and particle size have been investigated. Optimum yield was obtained using a large anolyte volume, extended polymerisation time and large working electrode surface area. The particle size can be controlled by altering the experimental conditions. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
