摘要
Three of the most common liver diseases in children are hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Evidence-based approaches to the management of these disorders are lacking. As a result, there is significant controversy about the optimal methods for management of these disorders. The goal of this conference is to provide a forum for an active and more complete discussion of current management approaches to these important problems in pediatrics. Potential future approaches and the relevance of adult approaches to children will be discussed. Multicenter clinical studies of all of these topics are currently being implemented in the United States, thus new data may be available at the time of this symposium. It is anticipated that the conference will stimulate new clinical approaches and investigations into these pediatric liver diseases.
