摘要：

This review is focused on ion manipulation/mass analysis. Emphasis is placed on the capabilities of laboratory-based instruments that have not necessarily been designed with constraints placed upon size, weight, and power requirements. The objective is to put into perspective the performance characteristics of the major mass analysis tools in use today in the broadly defined fields of chemistry and molecular biology.
