摘要
The relevance of the construct optimism in a variety of psychological and medical domains has been convincingly demonstrated by numerous studies. The most commonly used instrument for measuring dispositional optimism in psychological research is the Life-Orientation-Test (LOT-R). The German translation of the LOT-R is introduced and tested using a sample of 4938 individuals ranging in age from 18-101 years. Psychometric properties and norms for the optimism and pessimism subscale as well as for the LOT-R score are reported. The data provides an improved basis for the use of the instrument in research settings and for the interpretation of results.
