摘要
Intensity, decay time, anisotropy, quenching efficiency, luminescence energy transfer, are the parameters being measured in such sensors. Chemical sensors and biosensors do not have separation capabilities unless partnered to respective additional devices. The biosensors can be divided into two kinds of groups, namely, biosensors of the catalytic type and biosensors of the affinity type. There are two main types of optical biosensors, the first exploits any changes that can occur in the intrinsic optical property of the biomolecule as a result of its interaction with the target analyte, and the second type is making use of optical labels and probes of various kinds. Optical biosensors requires a variety of scientists to cooperate in order to end up with a viable biosensor scheme, and ideally, commercial products.
