c-Src tyrosine phosphorylation of epidermal growth factor receptor, P190 RhoGAP, and focal adhesion kinase regulates diverse cellular processes

A study c-Src phosphorylation of epidermal growth factor receptor, P190 RhoGAP, was presented. c-Src structure, function, and role in human cancers was discussed. It was found that cellular adhesion regulated the growth and motility by signaling through FAK (focal adhesion kinase)/Src tyrosine kinase complexes. Alterations in adhesion-dependent signal transduction regulated tumor metasis by conferring typically nonmotile cells the ability to detach from native ECM and migrate to distal sites.
