On-chip synthesis and label-free assays of oligosaccharide arrays

Sugar coated: A new strategy for solid-support oligosaccharide array synthesis and direct SAMDI-TOF (self-assembled monolayers for matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization time-of-flight) mass spectrometry detection of the synthesis process is reported (see scheme). It incorporates an on-chip ligand array synthesis, a label-free detection method, and direct application to an enzymatic assay. (Chemical Equation). © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
