摘要
Light-controlled gene expression: Cellular mRNA levels that are regulated by the RNA interference pathway can now be controlled with light. The modification of small interfering RNA (siRNA) with photolabile moieties can partially or fully block RNA interference, depending on the extent of siRNA modification. Upon irradiation, siRNA is released (see picture). Now in its active state, it is able to suppress target gene expression. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
