Continuous synthesis of copolymer particles in microfluidic reactors

摘要
Carboxylated copolymer particles in a microfluidic reactor were synthesized by rapid continuous process. Good control over particle dimensions was achieved by varying the flow rates of the continuous aqueous phase and monomer mixture and by varying the composition of droplet phase. The diameter of microbeads can be further reduced by decreasing the width and the height of the orifice of microfluidic flow-focusing device (MFFD). This method allows for the production of extremely monodispersed particles with coefficient of variance below 2%.
