Negative differential resistivity in Ca3Ru2O7:: Unusual transport and magnetic coupling in a near-metallic system

摘要
The d.c. current-voltage characteristics of single crystals of bilayered Ca3Ru2O7 show "S_shaped", current-controlled, negative differential resistivity, the first such observation in heavy transition metal oxides. The non-ohmic behavior is restricted to the Ru-based antiferromagnetic non-metallic region of the complex temperature-magnetic field phase space. The effect is seen in related single crystal iridates. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
