Endovascular grafting for abdominal aortic aneurysms

Endovascular grafts were first employed in the repair of the abdominal aortic aneurysms in 1990. The early success reported by several investigators generated a great deal of research activity this field, leading to many advancements in technique and instrumentation. Today, there are many different types of endovascular grafts available for use, with good midterm results. This article will review the development of endovascular technology, the types of grafts available for use, patient selection criteria, the Insertion and deployment procedure, and the results and complications reported by authors in this field.
