(Figure Presented) A disruptive influence: The naphthyridine carbamate dimer (NC) binds to the CGG/ CGG triad with an exclusive 2:1 stoichiometry. A DNA oligomer is selectively cleaved at the site of cytosine in the triad upon treatment of the NC-bound CGG/ CGG triad with hydroxylamine and hot piperidine (see picture; red: 2-amino-1,8-naphthyridine, blue: cytosine). The 2:1 NC-CGG/CGG complex is also produced in the (CGG)n repeat. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
